Free-Flow Systems/License Plate Recognition

Modified on Mon, 23 Feb at 10:23 AM

In so-called 'free-flow systems,' or 'flux-libre systems,' no signal is usually sent to the toll box.

There are generally no barriers in these systems, and tolls are assigned solely by optical recognition of the vehicle's license plate via camera. (It is therefore perfectly normal for the toll box not to emit any signal tones in this case. - Only when using the 'Toll Box over 3 m' in Austria attention attention must be paid to the signal tones according to the instructions provided.)

As your license plate number is lodged in your 'toll box management' in your customer account with maut1, it is also registered in the license plate systems of the toll operators in the countries covered with the Toll Box in question and will be assigned to your toll box there.

In countries covered by your toll box type (depending on the product and contract), the according license plate systems are also covered.
