- Portugal (+ parking)
Italy - Spain - Portugal:
Italy, Spain, and Portugal are covered with any vehicle, regardless of weight and height. At the toll station itself, the vehicle is measured and classified using sensors, and the correct tariff is charged automatically.
Merely in France certain aspects must be taken into account regarding vehicle dimensions.
France:
According to the official rules of the toll operators, vehicles weighing 3.5 tons or more, or measuring 3 meters in height, require a toll box for heavy vehicles.
However, practice has shown that height is measured first and weight is only secondary.
For example, a motorhome with an actual weight of up to 4.5 tons, a height of up to 3.05 meters measured without superstructures, and no more than two axles is subject to the “toll box up to 3 m high” contrary to the official rules of the French toll operators. Vehicles with an actual weight of up to 4.5 tons, a height of up to 3.05 meters measured without superstructures, and no more than two axles cannot use the “toll box for vehicles over 3 m high” and the barriers would remain closed.
Superstructures such as satellite dishes, air conditioning, etc. are not included in the relevant height.
