Lanes (additionally) marked with these symbols can be accessed with a toll box.
(Premium-)toll boxes of Type "Telepass" (Serial Number starting with 00049xxx) can also be used on these lanes in Sicily and in Italian car parks.
Yellow lanes without card or cash payment symbols can exclusively be accessed with a toll box.
These lanes often begin several hundred metres before the toll stations, which means that traffic jams caused by drivers paying on the spot can mostly be avoided.

On blue lanes marked with the word ‘Carte’ or the card symbol, with no additional Telemaut symbols (see above), only credit cards are accepted for payment.
Depending on any additional payment symbols displayed, payment above white toll lanes may be made in cash exclusively or additionally.
For Italian Free-Flow systems, your license plate number is registered via the toll box (customer profile under ‘Toll Box Management’). When you drive through Free-Flow systems, your vehicle’s license plate is captured by camera and the toll charge is linked to you via your toll box account. (Exception: AREA C in Milan)
