Unfortunately, it is not possible with our manufacturers' current devices to switch the sound signal to a light signal or a lower tone.

Austria:

Only when using the 'Toll Box motorhomes and vehicles over 3 m height' or 'Toll Box for commercial trucks over 3 m high and over 3.5 t weight' in Austria is it important to always check the signal tone when passing checkpoints on toll roads.

We regret that we are unable to offer you a direct solution. As an intermediary provider of toll boxes, we have no influence on the system in Austria, which is heavily based on the signal tone.

Smartphone apps such as 'BeAware,' which detect loud noises and draw attention to them visually, or other apps or devices that filter and amplify noises, can provide a solution.

Italy, Spain, Portugal, France:

Please note that the signal tone is irrelevant here. Barriers open automatically when the toll box has been detected, and in other systems, the license plate on your vehicle is visually detected and assigned to your toll box via your registration with maut1.

The signal tone here is originally intended to check the battery charge level if necessary. However, Maut1 will contact you automatically in good time before the battery runs out.
